Hello lovelies. We won’t ask how you’re doing today because we know the answer to that question. Instead, just a few organizational things today regarding the impending removal of EKP’s videos.
1. How long will you keep posting videos?
We are planning to cover all of the immediate aftermath of Roman’s death. Currently that means our last clip will probably be episode 1282, which is scheduled to air on October 7. We have also had several inquiries as to whether we will be covering episode 1299, which is referenced in this article and will air on November 1. Currently our answer to that question is “we don’t know.” It depends on what exactly happens in that ep. It is very important to us to end this final storyline on an episode that is in keeping with the spirit of EKP, i.e. one that focuses on Deniz and Roman. If that is the case with 1299, we’ll cover it. HOWEVER, if that ep deals with, say, the return of Katja and her bestowing of condolences, then no. We are and have always been primarily about the story of Deniz and Roman, and we feel strongly about ending this adventure with the focus on the two of them (and/or Deniz and Florian as those left behind), not any other character.
Also, due to the nature of the story arc, the “Once More With Feeling” playlist will end with episode 1269. You’ll see why. All subsequent episodes will be placed in a final, aftermath-themed playlist.
2. When will your videos go offline?
Currently channel closure is scheduled for November 2, 2011. We reserve the right to change the date should unforeseen circumstances arise (as they have a tendency to do, lol), in which case we will let you know.
3. Will there be a party?
We hope so! We’re a bit too spread thin at the moment to organise anything impressive, but at the very least we can all go bonkers over the channel comments on the day as we get drunk, lol. If something more specific does get organised, we’ll let you know.
4. Will your entire channel be deleted?
No. We are taking down all the AWZ videos at RTL’s request, as previously announced, but we are planning to keep the channel itself up, if mostly empty. Call it a memorial if you will.
5. Will you upload your videos somewhere else?
Absolutely not. RTL have been as accommodating towards us as they possibly could be for three years, and we will not repay that by dishonouring our agreement with them. (Plus, all AWZ material will be wiped from other upload platforms as well anyway.) Copyright law is certainly not up to date with the content-sharing possibilities (and possible benefits) of the internet, and perhaps someday that will change. Alas, it will not be in time to save this channel, and having struggled against copyright restrictions for three years, we’ve grown weary of that battle.
So in essence, you have a month and a half to revisit old favourites, marathon, download episodes you wish to keep for private use, and give the old Igloo a good send-off. We’ve already seen a few of you doing the rounds of the older playlists and commenting your little hearts out. It’s been wonderful to see, as has the explosion of appreciative messages we’ve been getting in all sorts of forms. Thank you all. You are such an important part of why this last journey has been so amazing.

P.S. We’ve received numerous emails asking if we will burn discs for people. The answer to this is “No.” With over 800 videos, it would take us an unfathomable amount of time to burn even one set to disc. Doing this at the volume that’s now being requested would destroy us and our laptops. We’ve been putting these clips up on a daily basis for nearly three years. The least you can do is figure out how to burn your own copy now.

This was a much needed article, I think, since the Igloo is falling a part bit by bit currently, and a lot of us are wondering how long this last stretch will go. Now that I’ve had the chance to think about it, I am grateful for RTL for letting us have this last story before it all gets taken down. But of course, most grateful I am of you girls. You didn’t need to come back and do this, but you did. You’ve been doing this for nearly 3 years now and it has been great to come along for the ride. But, we still have a month left! That is a relief. I was thoroughly broken by yesterday’s episode, but I’m trying not to think about it. DeRo will always live on with us! I would offer you all some comforting Ben & Jerry’s, but I’m afraid I finished all mine last night…

Yes I know you both are rolling your eyes while reading this and filing it under stupid questions but I had to ask! The comments are such an amazing collection of wisdom, wit and general randomness and they so enhanced my viewing – it makes me very sad to think of them all vanishing into the interwebs ether.

It is not just for the posting of your beautifully translated episodes that featured the magnificent love story that is so dear to our hearts; it is also for the way you have fought for us and worked your tails off to keep us informed and entertained. I have not cried so much at a TV show in a very long time but the episode today was so beautiful and I really want to thank you for all your work. This is such a great story of love and it’s very sad it has to end. Thanks so much to everyone involved.
I have so much enjoyed Deniz and Roman from the first time Deniz came to Essen. I am very sad “blows nose, take sips of vodka throws empty bottle next to all the rest”. Thank you so much for the past years posting vids for us Roman/Deniz fans! While I am super sad to see the storyline ends on such a tragic note, it’s a fitting conclusion to one of the best love stories that ever grace my computer screen. I will need to make another round of the entire storyline from beginning to end before they all go off. Much love to the actors too, and thank you EKP for the amazing job you’ve done.
Tears are streaming down my face. Oh my bunny. The show and the actors have broken my heart, but I’m glad that I came back to watch Roman’s (and Dennis’) final storyline for the show. They’ve done an amazing job of showing how difficult it’s to go through something like that and the aftermath is just beginning for Romano’s loved ones.

I’ve only been watching this story for a few weeks (mostly, this past week), and I am wrecked. I can’t imagine what it’s been like for most of you, following the lives of these characters for years. Thank you EKP ladies for all the work you’ve done to bring this incredible love story to a wider audience. I’m glad and grateful for the chance to have seen it.
This will soon sound repetitious, I’m sure, but you deserve a big thanks for all that you’ve done to make this storyline available to an English-speaking audience. We do appreciate it. Lots!! And hope that while keeping good memories of Roman, Deniz will find happiness again. Tschau!

if it not for you, i would not have come across this lovely story of deniz and roman. i love these characters with all my heart. i dont know if it is a fantasy or hope, but this storyline gave me a reason to smile for few moments in my sad gay-life. having gone through some of those moments in my life sometimes i co-relate and sometimes i fantasize. i believe RTL should be greatful for you all that they have one big fan all the way from INDIA.

I had a request of a friend who is asking me about the story about the last break up of deniz and roman because of jessica. Is it possible for you to tell that story also ? Because apparently you can’t find the story anywhere
LOL, no way. If there was a storyline called “That time Richard and Celine had sex in the locker room and Richard slipped on a cockroach mid-thrust”, then Jessica would still rank slightly BELOW that in terms of how interested we are in anything to do with her.

Thank you so much for coming back. Seeing Roman die of a brain tumor hit home to me as my 15 year brother died of the same illness. Like Roman the tumor was in a place where the risk of removing the tumor was worst than not operating it. I’ve cried alot for few reasons. 1. I never thought Roman will die like that. 2. I relived the agony and suffering my family and I experienced with my brother and 3. Loving DeRo and Eskimo Kiss Project became easy. Thank you so much for giving me and us, your fans, the oppornitiy to follow you and the story line of Deniz and Roman. I look forward to the aftermath.

I can’t really imagine the last two years of my life without you guys. Having something to look forward to when I got home from work and sharing views with other eskimos was great. When RTL was removed from my TV package I was in panic, complete and utter panic. Luckily I found your YouTube channel before I went out the deep end. I have been following this story via YouTube for the past year and loved (almost) every minute of it. Thanks to you guys I was able to be a part of it ’till the bitter end without having to deal with the other storylines, witch were not all as interesting as this one, and I wouldn’t have missed it for anything.

Hello – being an aussie I only stumbled across the DeRo phenonmenon a month ago so alas have now gotten hooked only to see that the channel has closed. Devastated! I have enjoyed the part journey … and will have to be content reading the episode decriptions for the rest.
